The following pictures are of Leroy Tapia's Henry J. He is from Albuquerque,New Mexico and also loves Henry J's this is only one of his cars. He was also at the 1st Goodguys in Las Vegas. Leroy is a very nice guy and was very helpfull in getting these pictures on my site. Leroy and his son built this car in an amazing short time of six months.
Leroy and his son did all the work on this car. It is extremly straight and has a beautiful guards red paint job. It retains all the chrome and emblems which have all been replated. The front end is a one piece fiberglass and tilts. The car is simply named "HENRY"
Motor is a 350 punched .030 with Dart aluminum heads running a 6.71 blower with dual Holley carbs. Motor is backed up with a 2sp powerglde trans and linked to a Chrysler Dana 60 with 4.10 gears. Leroy built his own frame from 2X3 tubing and also hand made all the front suspension componets, hooking it all up to a Pinto R&P steering. Best times to date is a 9.90 at 136mph your text.
Leroy's office is also all business, this is a full on race car only. All aluminum paneling is used throughout the car, and it has a full 12 point roll cage. Instramentation is handled by a complete set of Autometer guages. MSD electronics are used exclusivly in this car.lick here to add your text.
This is what the competion see's! Those are 29.5X13.5 Hoosier slick which are helped to hook up with a full ladder bar suspersion. All glass has been replaced with Lexan, and Leroy also did a nice job rolling the rear pan. These guys are extremely talanted, this car is really "BITCHEN"
I want to say what a good time I had talking with Leroy and his son, they are very nice people and bring a lot of talent to the Hotroding scene. I learned lots of cool touches that I will incorporate into the building of my car. Everything about this car is first class, and every little detail has been taken care of. Thank you Leroy for allowing me to show all Henry J fans your great little drag J.
